Do the dogs sleep with us?
Yes, the dogs sleep with you in the cabins. Unless you're with a
group where all the dogs know each other, you'll have to keep your dog in
a kennel or x-pen so that no one tangles in the night.
What are the sleeping arrangements like?
The rooms are dorms where everyone claims a bunk. Women are with
women and men are with men. As most of you know, dog training is a
very woman dominated field so we usually only have 3-4 single men per
camp. There will also be a co-ed dorm for couples. If you are
with a group, you can likely get your own private cabin, depending on the
size of your group.
I live really close to the camp.
Can I sleep at home?
You're not a prisoner so you can sleep anywhere you like. But there
isn't a different price structure for those who would want to commute to
the camp.
Can I stay in my RV?
Sure! But you may have to park it a distance away from the
activities. Also, there's not a difference in the enrollment fee for
those who sleep in their RV.
I have foods/medication/other stuff that
needs to be refrigerated. Can I?
Yes. All the camps have some sort of refrigerator that you can keep
perishables in.
I'm a beginner, is the camp for me?
Absolutely. The camp is designed for dog owners of all levels to
participate. You can be assured that even the most experience dog
owner will be a novice at SOMETHING at the camp.
Can my
husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/son/daughter/(insert here) come to the
camp for free?
No. The enrollment fee is per person for up to 2 dogs each.
That means from 0 to 2 dogs. There isn't a separate cost for people
without dogs. Sorry.
Can I have a friend come visit me?
The camp is open only to those registered. If you have a friend in
the area that you would like to visit, you are welcome to meet him or her
outside the campgrounds.
What are the refund policies?
Refunds are given according to how long it is before the camp from 100% to
0%. These dates are posted in the Terms of Agreement that each
camper must agree too before they can pay for the camp.
What do I need to bring?
You bring pretty much what you would do if you went camping and/or a dog
event. Some of the things include;
- Bathroom Supplies: Toothbrush,
toothpaste, soap, towels, etc.
- Sheets, blankets, and pillows for
the beds... they are stripped. Sleeping bags are a great
option.
- Water and feeding bowls for your
dog.
- X-Pen or other kennel for the dog
- Dog Toys...
- Musical Instrument if you play
something.
- Hiking shoes for the sunrise/sunset
hikes
- A light sweater.
- Insect repellent
- Sun Screen
- Chips and other snacks.
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Extra pairs of socks
- Benadril (for any potential
reactions your dog could have to stings or
bites)
- First Aid (nothing big, but I like
to carry my own bandaids, eye drops,
tweezers and antiseptics for potential cuts and scraps)
- Sodas, extra water or particular
liquids that are your favorites
- Folding chair
- Backpacks are always good to keep
the essentials in and your hands free
Do I need bring an EZ-UP or other pop-up
tent?
All our camps comes with plenty of trees so there really isn't a need for
additional shading.
Can I make a deposit for a camp and pay
later?
No, we have early enrollment at a discount to encourage early signups.
We do not have the ability to have a payment plan.
Do I sign up for classes in advance?
There are individual private lessons that you can sign up for in advance
and this list will be maintained on the groups list for you to access.
But for group classes, it's a first come/first served basis. Because
there are several things happening at once, it's rare that a class is
filled.
Are the dogs off-leash?
Because of the high-energy level of the dogs in classes and other
potential conflicts, all dogs must be on leash. There will be plenty
of opportunity for your dog to be off leash and have a great time.
Are the dogs allowed everywhere?
Almost. The only place dogs are not allowed is the dining hall.
I asked about the camp before the early
enrollment fee went up. Can I still get that rate?
No. The early enrollment fee is set for those who ENROLL early.
Who can I contact for more information?
You can contact us by either email
(info@Iron-Dogs.com) or phone (818-335-9889)
